Acclaiming The Win
Jun 12, 2017
First up this campaign, exciting sprinter Wide Acclaim jumped to straight to the lead for Deanne Panya and just ran his rivals ragged - clearing out for an impressive two and a half-length victory at Warwick Farm on the public holiday Monday.
Entered the week prior, the decision was made to scratch the four-year-old gelding due to the state of the track and the constant rain during last week, and although come Monday the track was still rain affected, Wide Acclaim was like a ‘duck to water’ as he registered his fourth victory.
Purchased by Laurel Oak Bloodstock’s Louis Mihalyka from the draft of Vinery Stud at the Magic Millions, the son of Congrats has now had four wins and 10 placed performances from 22 career starts with his earnings creeping towards $150,000.
From the outside gate, Panya jumped Wide Acclaim well before hustling up to cross the three in front and take the lead.
Although tracking wide, as the home turn was reached, Wide Acclaim found himself many lengths clear and just kept going to record an encouraging first up win.
Congratulations to the large group of owners and we are confident he can now go on with it and we will look for a similar race in the weeks to come.
