Fairhill Farm to Cheer Gimcrack Runners

Sep 26, 2017

For a smaller boutique breeding operation such as Mike and Debbie O'Donnell's Fairhill Farm to have two fillies nominated for the first juvenile fillies stakes race of the season is quite an achievement.

Fairhill Farm sold fillies Fiesta and Zerchois are among 21 fillies nominated for the Listed ATC Gimcrack Stakes this Saturday at Randwick.

By Choisir from Bezzera, Zerchois is trained by Gary Portelli, who is no stranger to success with a two year-old having won the Golden Slipper earlier this year with she Will Reign.

Like She Will Reign, Zerchois was also sourced from the Inglis Classic Yearling Sale, secured by Golde Edge Syndications from the Fairhill Farm draft for $50,000.

Zerchois won her only barrier trial at Warwick Farm on September 8 by two and a half lengths and has obviously inherited some of the ability of her family which includes Group I winning juvenile Choice Bro, who was also raised at Farihill Farm and sold as a weanling.
